2013 BLUSH-PINK AND BABY NEW YEAR

I have never seen this color flowering cactus before.  The blossoms remind me of a ballerina's blush-pink tulle skirt.  So now I have another flowering (New Year?) cactus.

That's Baby New Year in the blush-pink blossoms. The flowering cactus is in a vintage Snowball pattern milk glass planter.  Baby New Year is a small vintage circa 1950's plastic dolly.  I like Baby's eyes.  Since "Nobody puts Baby in a corner", according to Patrick Swayze in Dirty Dancing, I placed her amongst the blush-pink blossoms.

And so for 2013:

Don't let anyone put you in a corner.

Stay in the pink.

And have a very Happy New Year!

  4. Hi Susie, it's so nice to meet you! Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving me a nice comment. :-) Your flowering cactus is beautiful. I have one but it never flowers. Do you fertilize yours? Perhaps I need to do that!

  6. Re: Your comment on this post of mine... About where Susan Branch has that list of old films... Note that I have the word "List" in RED. Pass your curser over it, and it will turn Bright Yellow, and show you, that it is a click-able link... To the List on Susan's blog.

I always put a click-able link in my posts, when I mention something, from another blog.

Hope you go back to my blog entry, via my click-able link right here above, in this comment. And go look at Susan's list. :-)

  7. Btw, the click-able link back to my post, looks sort of Gray-In-Bold-and-Italics-print.... At least it does, when I am reading your comments.

I usually make my click-able links to show up in a very different color, so they will be noticeable. There is a place, in your Settings, to set the colors of things like your LINKS and etc.

  8. Too cute Susie, Love baby New Year and especially the Patrick Swayze quote. Love, love that movie! Your cactus is gorgeous. Yes, I agree the color is very unusual. One thing is for sure, baby looks pretty in pink. Even if she is in her birthday suit. lol! Now following you.
    Hugs,
    Jann

  10. What a beautiful Christmas Cactus. I have one that blooms for a short while, but I can never get them to bloom again. Yours do look like a tutu!
