VETERANS DAY - A MOM'S THOUGHTS

OUR SON

Our son is a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force.  He's based in the U.S. right now, but was stationed in the Netherlands for quite some time,  and then was deployed to Afghanistan, and then to a base on the Arabian peninsula.

If he doesn't re-enlist, again, he will finish his service in late 2013.

This photograph was taken in December of 2010.  He had been home on leave for the holidays.  He was preparing to return to his base, but wanted to wear his uniform to visit his ailing Grandma before he left, as she had never seen him in uniform before.  His hat was already packed in luggage at another location.   My husband snapped this picture of him as he was leaving our home.  It had just started to snow.  That was the last time he saw his Grandma.  She passed away about two months later while he was deployed in the Middle East.

Today, I am thinking of,  and thanking,  all of  those who have served, or are currently serving in our Armed Forces.

WE ARE PROUD OF YOU, SON!

  2. You have a right to be proud of such a fine young man!!!

Please thank him for his service. And I say thanks to all of his family, who also serve. Because they worry and wait and support him, from home.
