THE BRIGHT, SHINY NEW YEAR

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
TAKEN AT THE ST. LOUIS BOTANICAL GARDEN
It feels good to be a few days into 2015.

This is the first post I have done in more than a month.  My computer kept getting slower, and my husband kept trying everything he knew to get it running right, it got so slow that I would fall asleep waiting for the next thing I was trying to look at to come up.  Finally, I couldn't even get the "sit and spin" to come up.  The computer repair shop cleaned it up and now it is running fine. When I finally got it back on Christmas Eve day, there was no time to even look at anything on it.

MUSCLE MEN
Christmas was wonderful.  My son was home on leave.  It's been about three years since he was home for Christmas, so my grandson did not remember him. They had fun getting to know each other.

JUST HAVING FUN.  THE LARGE BLUR IN THE BACKGROUND IS COVERING MY BIG PHOTO BOMBING FEET.
My grandson is at the perfect age for the wonder of Santa and Christmas.  He absolutely did not want to go to bed and go to sleep on Christmas Eve.  He told his mom, "I want to stay up and wait for Santa.  I know him.  I need to talk to him.  I have to tell him something."  Of course he "knows" Santa.  He sat on Santa's lap two different times before Christmas, so he felt like they were best buddies, and I am sure they are. When he, at last, went to sleep, "Santa" was able to get toys assembled and put under the tree.
HUGS FOR MILLY,  MY DAUGHTER'S GODMOTHER'S LILAC POINT SIAMESE. MILLY LOOKS LIKE SHE IS LIKING THAT HUG.  MY GRAND IS SO GENTLE WITH ANIMALS.
Santa was good to me and my husband, too.  The whole family was together for Christmas.  That was a precious gift.

SON, DAUGHTER, AND MY HUSBAND

FOUR GENERATIONS - MY DAD, ME, MY DAUGHTER, AND GRANDSON
Two days after Christmas my son had to go back.  Thankfully, right now, he is still in the U.S.  That was the rough part of Christmas.  I may be getting too old for good-byes.  In the past I could keep from crying when hugging him good-bye, but not this time.  I didn't really want him to drive away seeing me standing on the porch crying, but my eyes and my heart wouldn't cooperate.  I cried off and on all day that day until my eyelids were chapped and swollen.

It took me a couple of days to get out of those emotional doldrums.  Now we are into a new year and it feels good.

BRIGHT, SHINY, FEELING GOOD.

  10. Oh Susie how wonderful that you did get to have Christmas all together in your loving family embrace. I can only but imagine the wrench when your beloved son had to leave again.
OK then I'll send some tropical warmth your way if I may borrow some cold off you!
    Happy 2015 dear Susie.

  11. :) That little boy is just plain adorable!! I haven't been following as closely as I should but I am assuming that your son is in the service? I was a military wife for 20 years and my son was also military. It's hard. Really hard. I remember it well! I am going to try harder to keep up..
    Hugs..Mona

  12. You haven't posted in a little while. :(

I'll be so glad when spring gets here and I can work out in the yard. I'm planning on adding flowers to the front of my cottage.
